Edin builds and maintains taste layers inside our clients' own environments. Client material stays behind the client's perimeter and never comes into our custody. This policy covers the personal information we do handle: people who visit this site, and people who get in touch with us.
This site is operated by Edin. For anything relating to privacy, write to [email protected].
Where we deliver a taste layer to a client, we act on that client's instructions under the terms of the engagement. That material, meaning the decisions, documents, corpora, and the verdicts produced from them, stays in the client's environment and under the client's control. It is governed by the data processing terms in the relevant agreement rather than by this policy.
If you write to us or ask to start a conversation, you give us your name, your email address, and whatever else you choose to tell us. We use it to reply, and if we go on to work together, to run the engagement. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and performance of a contract once one exists.
Where we deliver services to an organisation, that organisation may give us contact details for the people we will be working with. We use them only to deliver that work.
This site is hosted on Cloudflare. Their network records standard technical information when a page loads, including browser and operating system, the referring page, an approximate location derived from IP address, and which pages were requested. We use it to keep the site running and secure. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest.
This site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and runs no analytics at the time of writing. If that changes we will name the provider on this page and ask for consent before anything non-essential is set.
Mail sent to an @edincloud.com address is routed by Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to a mailbox we control. Cloudflare processes the message in transit in order to deliver it.
We do not run marketing campaigns or mailing lists. If we write to you it is because you contacted us, or because we have a specific reason to think the work is relevant to you. Ask us to stop and we will.
We share personal information with third parties only where it is necessary to run our business or deliver something you asked for. In practice that means our hosting and email provider, and our professional advisers. Each is bound by contract to protect it and to tell us if they can no longer meet that obligation.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
We may disclose information where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Personal information may be processed in the United States. Where information is transferred out of the UK or the EEA, we rely on an approved transfer mechanism and remain responsible for it.
We maintain safeguards appropriate to the information we hold, and our people may use personal information only to do the work they are engaged for. No transmission over the internet is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires, and then we delete it. Removal from backups may take longer, and anything still held stays protected under this policy until it is gone.
Edin sells to organisations. This site and our services are intended for people acting in a professional capacity, and are not directed at consumers or at anyone under 18.
Depending on where you live, you may ask us to:
Write to [email protected] to exercise any of these. We may need to verify your identity first. If you are in the UK or the EEA you may also complain to your supervisory authority.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
This site is provided for information. Its contents, including all text, design, and graphics, belong to Edin. Nothing on it is an offer, a warranty, or professional advice, and where we work together the signed engagement agreement governs and takes precedence over anything stated here.
